Transforming Reactions (further)
Our theme for the week is a continuation of work with observation and transformation of negative emotions. The specific suggestion is to concentrate study on the impulse of criticism. Can I work to leave off criticising others and myself, either explicitly or implicitly?
As I work with this I see judgments appearing in subtle ways -- a sardonic comment, a raised eyebrow, withholding response. These happen without my volition but in some cases a certain vigilance allows the judgement to become passive, liberating energy that would have gone into its expression for a sensation of myself.
Our work is, little by little, to relieve the heart of its occupation with self-preservation and to be naturally available as an instrument for genuine feeling.
We continue our "appointments" to pause and recollect ourselves together on each third hour.
